Who's My Ideal Customer?
I guess my ideal customer are the folks of my generation; I mostly have ideas for twenty-somethings. They are college-aged students. They are about 16-39 years old. Most of them dread growing up and gaining responsibilities. They have smartphones. They know how to use computers. They are politically-active. They are social. At night, they talk with their friends and plan to go out to different places. They enjoy travelling occasionally, and they barely watch TV. If they do watch a TV show, it's through a laptop or an HD TV.
Some of them have children. Some of them are thinking about becoming parents. They want their kids to grow up in a better environment than their parents raised them in. Some of them are the second or third generation of their family's children in the U.S.
Reflection:
I have a lot in common with my ideal customers because, ultimately, I want to know what sells to people who are like my friends or like the friends of my friends. My generation grew up in weird political, economic, and social times in this country. But we all seem to have similar habits, lifestyles, and mindsets regarding the bigger picture. Targeting my ideal customer won't be an easy task, but it's one that I feel prepared to handle.
