An opportunity I'd wish to pursue...
Park Troll - Road traveling app/video game
The who: Young Florida college students
The what: A road traveling app that does nothing more than map out quick routes to other metropolitan areas, and, when the vehicle that it's being used in is not motion, is a video game.
The why: There are twelve public universities in Florida. Each has a community of traveling students. This is a way to engage them for road trips for festivals, game days, concerts, etc.

I like the idea of enhancing and building a community of traveling students. I’m not sure about the specifics of the video game concept, though. Also, would the app allow users to create their own events and then invite friends via the app to travel? This idea would be a more streamlined way to organize travel because as of now, people usually utilize the UF Facebook groups.
ReplyDeleteHey Brian, thanks so much for sharing this, I think this is a great idea. Road traveling apps are always helpful because our generation doesn't have the best sense of direction. Especially in metropolitan areas I feel like the gps on our phones has a really hard time mapping out those spots. And having it turn into a video game will help to reach a much larger demographic, reaching people not only who need directional help but also gamers. Your interviews seemed to be really helpful and I'm glad and can't wait to see how your idea develops.
ReplyDeleteHey Brian, I think this is a really great idea and I never would have thought of it. I think it would have helped more if you went into more detail about what exactly the app includes. Your audio was also very helpful because some of the questions I had were answered in the tape. Furthermore, I think you should really consider actually developing this app because it sounds like it would be extremely helpful.
ReplyDeleteBrian,
ReplyDeleteI liked how you approached the interview. You let the customer do most of the talking which helped provide more ideas and feedback for you to further develop your idea. Like some of the other comments I am not exactly clear on what the app is completely doing, but like me your venture concept is most likely still taking shape. I am not much of game user on my phone, but the idea of rewards points appeals to me and is used by many companies to increase use of their products.
Brian, that’s a really interesting app idea that would help connect college students to their local communities. Being an ISOM major, I’m really interested in how the details of the app would work. Using the built in gyroscope or gps, you could accurately track whether or not the car is moving.
